Chisinau International Airport evacuated because of bomb alarm

The headquarters of the Chisian Internatioanl Airport and the Press House were evacuated after the police received an anonymous phone call saying the buildings were mined, Ala Meleca, the head of the press service of the Internal Ministry, has said to BASA-press.

The anonymous message announcing that the headquarters of three institutions from Chisinau – the city hall, the Press House and the Airport – had been mined, came this morning, according to the quoted source. “At the moment, all the three institutions are being evacuated and security measures are taken to protect the people”, Meleca added.

Contacted by BASA–press, Tudor Căpăţână, the head of the press service of the General Commissariat of Police, has said that police troops were distributed to all the three inatitutions, to insure the public order and safety.

Sources from the information service of the Airport have said to BASA–press that the situation is under control and the police are verifying the territory. So far, no flight was canceled.
