Chinese red cross donates $50 thousand to Moldova for overcoming drought consequences
The Red Cross Organization of China rendered a financial assistance at $50 thousand to the Moldovan Government for overcoming the drought consequences.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau, the Moldovan Government's call upon the world community for help continues remaining in the center of attention of the Chinese Government, which, as a good friend of Moldova, is always ready to render assistance for the Moldovan people.
Lithuania, Greece, Latvia, Slovakia, Israel, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Russia, Germany and France responded also to Moldova's call. They are ready to render assistance after they receive the report by UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on Moldova's losses, caused by the drought.
Moldovan scientists recognized the drought as catastrophic. According to the preliminary estimates, the damage, caused by the drought, exceeds $1 billion. // Infotag
