Cave Monastery from Sinca Veche
By Diana Ungureanu/ Chisinau / Moldova.ORG/ -- The desire to discover mysteries and miraculous places directed our steps to the cave monastery from Sinca Veche (Old Sinca) and Fagaras Mountains, from Brasov County, in Romania. It is a place where the reality, the history and legends are interlaced so strong, that you cannot make a difference between them.
Sinca Veche is a Romanian little village from Fagaras Land. About in 1700, in this village were 5 monasteries, four were wooden and one of them was carved in a rock, which were the expression of the spiritual current that covered this area about three centuries ago.
Over the time, four of the five monasteries were dissipated, living only in the memory of village old people. Only the cave monastery, which was carved in the rock, remained motionless and alive.
The origin of the monastery isn’t known exactly, as remained the fact who carved or who served it. But all we don’t know is a source of inspiration for makers of legends.
The monastery stirs controversy, which can be grouped in the following way:
• The age of the monastery, which is estimated in a enough long period – 250 and 7000 years;
• The origin of the monastery, some researchers say that it is an Christian Orthodox monastery, while others categorize it to be much older – Dacian or Predacian;
• How it was built: the fact that it has two altars generate two hypotheses – or it had two churches, or it was a pagan building, because a Christian monastery with two altars had been never met;
• Some strange phenomena that occurs regularly on the territory of monastery, such as apparition in the photos of white spots, crystals found by a lot of people who have visited the monastery and the legend about the fulfillment of desires, provided only if they are purely.
The monastery, which is such hidden from the world eyes, is difficult to find in the forest thicket. Few locals know to guide the traveler. The way to monastery is difficult and requires physical effort, but once you stepped on it, you feel you have stepped on another land. All those who stepped its threshold felt the strong energy and peace, which calls you to meditation and recovering.
The legends need for mystery in which they were born and too many explanations destroy their charm. Therefore the strong energy of urge from the monastery you must feel on your own body and don’t try to explain the phenomenon, just feel it.
