Basescu: Sex scandal of the Romanian consul surpasses all limits
Romanian President Traian Basescu has designated the scandal with the Former Romanian Consul in Chisinau Ion Nuica as “fantastic” and “surpassing all the limits”. The Consul resigned on Monday after a video clip about his sexual liaison with a woman from the Consulate was published.
According to www.NewsIn.ro, at Traian Basescu’s meeting with a delegation of the civil society leaders from Moldova he recognized that men make mistakes sometimes, but it may not serve as an excuse.
Romanian Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu refused to comment on Ion Nuica’s behavior and designated it as his personal problem.
“It would be useful that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would apologize for the diplomat’s behavior before the Romanian public”, Diaconescu remarked.
