Arizona woman left in CT scan machine
A Phoenix clinic says it has taken steps to prevent a repeat of an incident in which a cancer patient was forgotten inside a CT scan machine for five hours.
Elvira Tellez, 67, had to call 911 last week after freeing herself from the CT machine where she had been left when the staff locked up and went home for the day.
Arizona Oncology Associates told the Arizona Daily Star an investigation was launched right away and new procedures were immediately put into place.
The clinic reassured Tellez she had not been overdosed with radiation since the scan had been completed. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
