American Chamber in Moldova launches project for children suffering from leukaemia
The American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham Moldova) today launched a social project for children suffering from leukaemia within events dedicated to the USA s Independence Day. The proceeds earned from sold lottery tickets will be donated to the Chisinau-based Oncology Hospital.
The chamber s executive director, Mila Malairau, said that the goal of the campaign Leukaemia-free Life is to attract funds for children suffering from this disease.
"These children spend most of their time in the halls of the Oncology Hospital. The treatment and medication are very expensive. With the state covering only part of afferent spending, there is the risk that these children remain without the medicines they need," Malairau said.
The campaign will last until September.
