Admissions to training courses for pilots continue

The state-owned company “Aeronautical Training Center” decided to continue recruiting applicants that want to become pilots of the National Army. Such courses are organized in Moldova for the first time.

The acting commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant-Colonel Alexandru Dudau told REPORTER.MD that the applicants must be younger than 25, have higher education, know English and be physically healthy. Initially, the candidates will take a test in English. Those that will pass it will take a test in physics and mathematics.

Dudau said that the students will learn theory and practice during two years In the second year of studies, the students will fly about 150 hours with the aircraft DA-42.

The graduates will receive a commercial pilot diploma and will be enrolled in the National Army. They will sign a contract for a period of ten years with the Ministry of Defense and will receive the title of officer.

According to Dudau, the women have the same chances as men. They should only meet the contest criteria. There are no female pilots in the National Army at present.

Those enrolled will pay only for the medical examination. The state will cover the cost of the courses, assessed at 30,000 euros per person.
