Admission 2010 in Moldova is now under way

All Moldovan Universities have launched today, July 16, the period of enrolment of candidates to the first cycle of higher education. The period will last up to the 31st of July.

5230 positions with funding from the state budget and 9575 with payment of fees have been assigned to Higher Education establishments subordinated to the Ministry of Education in the school year 2010-2011. Other 3223 positions have been assigned to education establishments in the subordination of other ministries (including the Medical University, the Academy of Arts, the Agrarian University, the Police Academy, the Military Institute and the Academy of Science) and about 4100 other positions have been assigned for private universities.

The general framework for enrolment in higher education developed by the Ministry of Education for the year 2010-2011 includes positions with special destination: 550 positions for graduates from the Eastern districts, including Bender. The number of positions financed by the state for privileged candidates will be established by each public institution in part and will not go over 15% of the total number.

About 170 specialities will be eligible this year and the candidates will be able to apply for three different specialities within the same university.

This year novelty is that there are no age limits for the candidates, except for some specializations.
The admittance of the candidates will be realized on the basis of their results for the graduation exams and the average grades for some reference subjects included in the candidates’ graduation diplomas. The reference subjects are established by each university in part according to the specialization required by the candidates.
The candidates will have to present a request of registration in the contest and a set of documents including the Certificate of education, original, with the annex, the medical certificate (Nr.086U), issued in the year of admission, 6 photos 3 x 4 cm, copies of the IDs of parents (for the candidates who are under 20) and other supplementary documents for different categories of applicants.

The candidates in the contest will present personally their ID (passport), the military certificate or the certificate of recruit (for the persons subject to military service).

The applicants will also have to pay an enrolment fee established by the Minster of Education.
The results of the contests will be announced by August, 2. The repeated enrolment contests for uncovered positions will be held between the 3rd and the 7th of August 2010.

The citizens of Moldova who are interested in education abroad can apply for a scholarship in the Universities of Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria, and other countries which offer free studies to their ethnics from the Republic of Moldova.
