A young singer from Cernauti was awarded second place at “Mamaia” Folk Festival
The young singer from Cernauti, Grigore Gherman, succeeded to conquer the jury of the most rigorous folk festival in Romania “Mamaia”, which took place between 29th and 31st of August in Mamaia, Constanta County. The song “Scripcaras cu strune noi” obtained the most applause from the audience and the jury of the festival awarded him the second place.
“At the beginning of his way an artist needs as many own songs to represent him. That’s why, I’ve started to work on my own repertoire. The song I performed on the stage of “Mamaia” Festival is from my own repertoire and was orchestrated by the Master Ion Dascalu from Chisinau”, said Grigore Gherman for Moldova.ORG.
The young singer affirms that the award will give more courage and desire to create. “It’s a kind of appreciation of what I’m doing, how and what I’m performing”, added Grigore Gherman.
At the beginning of the summer, Grigore Gherman recorded together with Orchestra “Mugurel” several songs, which are broadcasted at many folk stations in Romania, as well as at by the national broadcaster of Moldova.
