A group of young Roma from the Coalition Roma's Voice initiated a campaign of collection of funds for the restauration of the unique monument from the Republic of Moldova installed in the honour of Roma people killed in the Second World War, DECA-press transmits.

With a list of the addresses of Roma citizens from Chisinau, the young peope intend to gather the money going from house to house in the capital and convince them of the need of restauring the monument.

„Long time ago, the monument place on Doina street from Posta Veche sector of the capital, represented a foundation and a granite plaque with a motto. The monument was destroyed by vandals, and the granite plaque was taken by a group of teenagers and sold it at an office of funeral monuments”, Marin Alla, general secretary of the Coalition Vocea Romilor, said.

The future monument will be made of stone of Cosauti and will have nearly two metres height. The total cost of construction materials and renovation work is estimated at nearly nine thousand lei.

The monument is going to be reinaugurated on April 8th, when the International Roma's Day is celebrated. // DECA-Press
