An 18-year-old man has been charged with shooting and wounding four high school students and two others at a school bus stop in Las Vegas.

Nicco Tatum was arrested at a Greyhound Bus Station in Denver late Wednesday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. He was traveling on a bus from Las Vegas to Chicago.

Las Vegas Police Capt. Kirk Primas said Tatum faced six counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon. Police were still searching for a second person involved in the shooting.

"I think we need to send a clear message to these people, these thugs," said Sheriff Doug Gillespie. "We're going to catch them, we're going to prosecute them, and we're going to send them to prison."

Investigators believe the shooting Tuesday was related to a fight Monday at the same bus stop, the newspaper said.  // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
